Collaborative Milestones: Hopkins Facilitates Offshore Graduation Ceremonies with Global University Partners in Hong Kong

Hopkins has forged strategic alliances with numerous prestigious overseas universities, enabling the delivery of their esteemed degree programs within the vibrant educational landscape of Hong Kong. Recognizing the significance of convenience and familial support, these partner universities have thoughtfully extended the option of offshore graduation ceremonies for students who have successfully completed programs organized by Hopkins.

Throughout the years, these graduation ceremonies have emerged as profound moments, encapsulating the achievements and aspirations of our graduates. With meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence, Hopkins, in collaboration with our esteemed university partners, has orchestrated memorable and dignified graduation experiences for students and their families.

These ceremonies have been marked by exceptional highlights, showcasing the utmost professionalism and reverence for academic accomplishment. From meticulously curated commencement addresses delivered by distinguished speakers to the conferral of well-deserved degrees, each ceremony has embodied the spirit of celebration, unity, and intellectual growth.

University of South Australia

From 2007 to 2016, Hopkins was in partnership with the University of South Australia to deliver its MBA program in HK. The University held its offshore graduation ceremony in HK each year at the Kowloon Shangri-la Hotel for graduates residing in Hong Kong. Honorable senior officials including the University's chancellor, vice chancellor, directors and head of various departments flew to HK to present the awards to graduates from the HK MBA program.

The celebration was not limited to the graduation ceremony but also a reunion dinner organized by the UniSA Alumni HK Chapter. Over one hundred alumni members, VIP guests celebrated the joyful moment with all the graduates.

It was a big proud day for all the graduates and their families and friends. Our congratulations to all the graduates, and wish them all the success in their professional and personal life.

The University of Adelaide

The University of Adelaide HK Graduation Ceremonies from 2004 to 2007 have been held at the Hong Kong Grand Hyatt Hotel. The ceremonies were officiated by Prof. James McWha, the Vice Chancellor of the University. Different university members, including Prof. John Taplin, the Pro-VC (International); Prof. Graham Hubbard, Head of former AGSB; Dr. Georges Baume, MBA Program Director (HK); Mr. M. Llewellyn Smith, Chair of the Alumni Association, Ms. Rosemary Priest; Ms. Kim McBride; Ms. Candance Gibson; and, Ms. Daniela Marschall were also participated in different year's ceremony.

Each year there was a different guest speaker. Mr. Kam Hing Lam, the Deputy General Manager of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd. was our honorable guest speaker in 2005; and, Dr. John Nicholls, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology - The University of Hong Kong in 2006.

The commencement day was a remarkable day for all the graduates, their friends and families. It marked the success of the graduates for completing their master degree. We congratulate those who received the best result of each subject and won the Hopkins prize, and special thanks goes to our prize sponsors, including Standards & Poors, The Hong Kong Institute of Housing, Karl Thomson (Holdings) Ltd. and Inchroy Credit Corporation Ltd.

The University of Northern Iowa

Hopkins has been in collaboration with the University of Northern Iowa to offer its MBA program in Hong Kong since 2000. Over the previous sixteen years, hundreds of MBA graduates and their families and friends have joined the HK Commencement Ceremony. The graduation days mark a distinguished success of graduates for earning their advanced degree and are highly-respected by the University.

It was Hopkin's big honor to have many UNI senior officials to fly to HK and host the ceremonies, including President Koob in 2006, Dean of Graduate College Dr. Susan Koch in 2006, President Ben Allen in 2008, Head of Management Department Dr. Dale Cyphert in 2008, Provost Gibson in 2010, Prof. Terry Hogan, the Vice President for Student Affairs in 2012, and President William N. Ruud in 2015, etc. Of course, Prof. Moussavi, Director of Global Programs and Bradford Chair in International Business, Dean Dr. Wilson, and the Marchal Nancy and Bob Hoffman were in HK for each of these graduation events.

The graduation days record a remarkable achievement for graduates after all the sacrifices and efforts in the past two years. We sincerely congratulate each one of them and wish them all the very best in their future endeavor, both professionally and personally.
